ABRSM introduces digital exam certificates

The changes will happen gradually during 2024, with paper certificates still available for an additional charge.

ABRSM has announced that it is introducing digital certificates for exams worldwide, with an option to order paper certificates for £3 (or equivalent currency).

The exam board said the move will help safeguard against fraud, reduce transport and paper use, and speed up the certification process.

Digital certificates will be identical to their paper counterparts, aside from a unique QR code that will provide online verification of the candidate and exam details.

The change will happen gradually between April and August 2024, with four starting dates depending on country.

The new arrangements apply to Performance, Practical and Music Theory Grades, with different arrangements in place for ABRSM’s other exams and assessments.
