LYC invites 1,000 London pupils to 10th birthday celebration

Taking place on 9 May at the Royal Albert Hall, London Youth Choirs has titled its anniversary showcase 'Rise Up'.

London Youth Choirs (LYC) has announced the programme for its 10th anniversary concert which will feature performances from all of its members. 

10 LYC choirs – made up of children and young people aged 7–23 from across 31 London boroughs – will be performing; Over 1,000 young singers have also been invited from across Brent, Ealing, Haringey, Lambeth, Southwark and Tower Hamlets. 

New pieces written for the occasion will be premiered at the concert, written by Amy Bryce and Brenda Rattray who workshoped compositions with LYC members. 

There will be a series of special guests including BRIT-nominated soprano and co-founder of the Kerslake Robshaw Foundation Camilla Kerslake and percussion stars O Duo.
