Applications and nominations are now open for fully-funded places on the Musicians of Change PGCEi, which trains educators and instrumentalists working with children in group settings.

The charities Music Masters and Black Lives in Music, working with Birmingham City University’s School of Education and Social Work, will fund two places on the Musicians of Change PGCEi as part of a drive to create a more representative and diverse music teaching workforce.

The internationally recognised Level 7 qualification and teaching certificate was the first Postgraduate Certificate of Education (International) dedicated to instrumental group teaching in primary, secondary and community settings. Students on the course gain access to leading practitioners and academics, and become part of a wider community of advocates and ambassadors for positive change across the sector. The partnership aims to champion the work of music teachers and tackle underrepresentation.
