Music Mark is proud to be the UK Association for music education and to support our members across the UK. Our training, events and resources are valuable to the whole music education sector, and our communications reflect both the diversity and commonality of the sector across the UK. Recently, England was quite a focus for us (despite some great events and activities in the other three nations, including a National Music Service for Wales Open Forum, in Carmarthen, and the Scottish Young Musician of the Year finals, in Glasgow).
May started with the government/Arts Council England announcement of the new Hub Lead Organisations, which will lead regional partnerships across the new 43 music hubs in England. The month ended with an Education Committee meeting to discuss the Music Hub Investment Programme and the National Plan for Music Education. Both reminded me of that diversity and commonality.
