It can take many hours to create and refine a piece, but who realistically has 10+ hours in their KS3 curriculum to give over entirely to a composition? Then there’s also the question of whether we should teach students to score their work, or whether we have the technology to use a DAW with all of KS3, and so on. I’ve thought a lot about what I want my KS 3 curriculum to look like. How can I best support students coming in the door in Year 7 to be able to achieve good A level outcomes?
