As schools reopen for the next academic year, #CanDoMusic is launching a series of inspirational music education stories online to motivate teachers and students to engage in music in the return to the classroom.

Following the first COVID-19 national lockdown in August 2020, the #CanDoMusic campaign was created with the aim of supporting music teachers with a social media hashtag movement and a website full of practical resources.

The creators of #CanDoMusic – the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM), the Music Teachers’ Association (MTA) and Music Mark – have announced a shift in the campaign’s aims from supporting teachers throughout the pandemic to post-pandemic recovery in music education.

The website will continue to signpost practical resources for instrumental teachers and schools with the addition of inspiring stories from classroom teachers, school leaders and other music educators.

Teachers are encouraged to share resources and stories online using the hashtag #CanDoMusic and are invited to email #CanDoMusic directly if they have freely accessible resources that could be featured on the website. www.candomusic.org
