The collaboration between Charanga and Youth Music began in the pandemic, when the charity offered its funded partners free access to the VIP music-making programme.

All schemes funded by Youth Music are now eligible for a free licence to Charanga YuStudio for the duration of their project. Every participant and practitioner involved in a Youth Music project is encouraged to use this service to learn about music production and create music online.

There are three elements to the service, which is available to schools. The YuStudio is the beginner-friendly music creation software and DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). The VIP Studio Sessions, secondly, is an award-winning programme that explores contemporary genres, music technology and production using the YuStudio. Thirdly, Yumu is an online secure space where young people can access their personal projects and resources on YuStudio.
