Over 3,000 young people to perform at Music for Youth 2022 Proms

Taking place in the Royal Albert Hall in November, the 2022 Proms will feature performances from Youth Music Award winner Jack Pepper, and two pieces from a group of young refugee students from Ukraine.
Music For Youth is hosting its largest live Prom since the pandemic on 15-16 November, where over 3000 young people will perform at the Royal Albert Hall.
The 2022 Prom will feature symphony orchestras, ensembles and choirs; young musicians will perform original songs, new commissions and covers, independently and as part of youth jazz bands and chamber groups.
Music for Youth, a charity with a mission to provide music education and opportunities for all young people in the UK, has asked those with all levels of music education and instrumentation to perform at the two-day Prom.
Phil Castang, chief executive of Music for Youth, said: ‘We are delighted to be back at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate what has been for many young musicians a ‘comeback’ year.
‘We will be launching a new campaign championing the brilliance of young musicians and calling on the public to see young musicians playing live wherever and whenever possible; ‘Young People Make Great Music: Support the Next Generation’.’
The programme contains a performance from Youth Music Award winner Jack Pepper, and two pieces from a group of young refugee students from Ukraine who are now safely continuing their studies at the London Performing Academy of Music.
Music group leader Janice Armstrong, said: ‘This is a huge honour for our band and a tribute to the hours of practice students have put in. They have worked incredibly hard together.’
