Leading music company Hal Leonard Europe (HLE) has launched Essential Elements Music Class – an online platform for educators delivering the music curriculum in primary.

Already used by thousands of schools across the USA, the Essential Elements Music Class has been adapted for UK teachers and non-specialists.

Its new content includes over 500 song resources and backing tracks, classroom music lesson plans for years 1-6, whole-class methods for ukulele and recorder and a virtual bookshelf of Hal Leonard digital books with suggestions for the classroom.

The offering also includes ‘interactive listening maps’ featuring learning games, downloadable activity worksheets covering a range of year-appropriate topics, and teacher-led playlists that parents can access.

Tom Farncombe, Hal Leonard Europe’s business development director said: ‘At HLE, we are passionate about the importance of music in the primary classroom and acutely aware of the challenges that schools and teachers face in delivering music.

‘EE Music Class is designed to meet those challenges by being easy to use, highly flexible, and full of popular songs that teachers and children will love to sing. It’s accessible and affordable – a perfect platform for starting children on a journey of lifelong music-making.’

The Essential Elements Music Class is available for £99 +VAT for a year’s subscription, which is available online with free 30-day trials now open.

Watch out for a review of the resource in an upcoming issue of Music Teacher.
