Music for Youth (MfY) are issuing a call out for groups to take part in a 10-minute performance alongside 1,000 other young musicians from across the UK, as part of the largest creative project MFY has ever produced.

The performance aims to bring together groups of all sizes, abilities and genres, allowing children to be a part of a groundbreaking performance at the MFY Proms.

Groups involved will receive resources and mentoring sessions in the autumn term leading up to the performance; the friends and family of the performers will have the opportunity to attend the event.

Reporting on last year’s MFY Proms, writer Noah Fashesin said: ‘I wasn’t the only person there who was amazed at what I was seeing with many of the performers in awe of the performance they had approaching. “I can’t believe it’s real”, “It’s incredible”, “Even some professional musicians don’t get to perform here” were just some of the things said by the young musicians as they prepared for one of the biggest performances of their lives.’

Those interested in being part of this year’s Proms and performing in the iconic London venue can register their interest at mfy.org.uk/creative-project-2023.
